Sunshine tip

The Droptails’ sound is an eclectic mix of indie rock, twang and power pop, and the lyrics move from the personal, through your neighbourhood to the globally political and back again. They released their second album, ‘Through Road,’ in February 2026.

The Droptails are old friends from Melbourne’s legendary 1980s indie music scene, including members of the Huxton Creepers, Cracked Jaffas, and Penthouse Paupers.

Kicking off the afternoon are Sunshine Tip, an acoustic quartet channelling a locally-rooted sensibility and stories through Americana sounds, on guitar, cello, mandolin and drums.

The Sunshine Tip original trio (Dave, Alice and Dee) will play a weekday lunchtime / afternoon gig at Kindred. The last time we played there we were really impressed by how beautiful the sound was …. So if you’re someone who doesn’t keep 9-5 weekday hours or you can get away at lunchtime on a Thursday, come on down! We’ll be playing two sets of our original alternative country songs… Free entry… so no excuses… See you there!
